Jesus Essay Topics - Christian Essay Topics
Jesus Essay Topics - Christian Essay TopicsWriting your own Jesus essay can be a great experience, even though it's not something you should start out writing from the very beginning. Instead, try to start out writing your own Jesus essay topics as you go.The more Christ-like you become, the more you'll want to write about Jesus and his life. And if you use the right resources and study the right techniques, you may even end up gaining a newfound appreciation for traditional stories and legends that have sprung up over the years as well.If you're wondering what Jesus could possibly have said or done to earn a place on the historical record, the simple answer is: nothing. Even a religious leader who does literally what the Bible says he did, or did his contemporaries do, would be unqualified to judge the chronology of other events and not be a part of history. But let's assume for a moment that you believe you do understand how Jesus could possibly have influenced world history, partic ularly in regards to his missionary activities. Even if you can't substantiate that claim, the simple fact remains that even the most devout followers of Jesus could not imagine the man as a significant historical figure. When Jesus was found dead, it was because he was no longer a significant historical figure. Had he lived to be a centurion, Josephus tells us, his followers would have been appalled by the historical circumstances surrounding his death, and they would not have become his foot soldiers. The reason?Jesus would not have become a historical figure, and the gospel writers would not have included him, and the historical setting of the last days in which he was crucified would not have happened. If that were not enough, he would not have bequeathed to his followers even a single letter.Even if Christianity came about because of the idea that Jesus is the Messiah, which I think is a compelling argument, it wouldn't even make sense to put his name on the cross. He wasn't eve n a figure of significance.None of this should have to be told, but since many believers have invested a great deal of faith in Christianity, I feel it's important to be fair in my portrayals of Jesus and his teachings. And it seems to me that Christians are too quick to look at the more favorable aspects of Christ's teaching, and ignore his faults and failings.
